A programme to provide houses of low cost based on a sponsorship to low income earners in the Western Province is due to be implemented after having them selected at the level of Divisional Secretariat Divisions. In selection of these beneficiaries of houses, they should be persons not having a house but in possession of a land suitable for building a house and priority will be given to those who are widowed, disabled and are having children undergoing studies. These houses are expected to be built up at the level of Divisional Secretariat Divisions.

• Accomplishment of a contented life being an owner of a permanent house and making such house owners contributory to the development of the country after having them led towards the avenues of permanent income through such an exercise.
• Bringing about an environment in which a robust family establishment could be built up consistently after having reduced issues confronting the homelessness.

*Approximate value of a house will be Rs. 10 million.

Striving to provide houses to all homeless low income earner persons in the Western Province on the basis of sponsorship.

A project to improve the facilities in the houses of the low income and marginalized persons is carried out by our Department annully and the symbolic handing over of one such house was ceremonially made on this day.Accordingly, the house of Mr. Pushpa saman weerasinghe residing in the Grama Niladhari Division of Meeriyagalla in the Divisional Secretariat Division of Padukka was handed over to its occupants  following the improvement of its facilities.
